1 Identification of relevant scientific environment and supervisor(s) Contact to supervisor(s) and relevant scientific environment
2 Project identification and establishment of contracts with possible external grantors (for more information see Faculty PhD Rules (General rules and guidelines), section 2.7) Establishment of project contract with grantor who is responsible for advertising job (for more information see Faculty PhD Rules (General rules and guidelines), section 2.7)
3 Procurement of financial resources Establishment of project contract with student when she/he has own funding
4 Department is writing and advertising job via PeopleXS Documentation that funding is available

1 Applications are uploaded via People XS with relevant enclosures

Student writes application 

2 Applications are evaluated by assessment committee Applications are evaluated by assessment committee
3 Preferred applicants are chosen

5 Department accepts to apply for enrolment at the PhD School and guarantees availability of adequate funding Department accepts to apply for enrolment at the PhD School and guarantees availability of adequate funding



Phase 2: Application for enrolment at PhD School

Phase 2: Application for enrolment

Steps
1 The department initiates the enrolment procedure in PhD planner. The applicant, supervisor and other relevant staff will receive an e-mail soon after, with details on how to proceed.
2 The application is evaluated by the head of the PhD School and the head of the PhD study board
3A If the application is approved, the student will be enrolled as a PhD student at a given date
3B If the application is not approved, the department and the student receive a refusal
