AnaEE Science Conference 2026: Ecosystem Science for a Resilient Future
Discover cutting-edge advances in ecosystem experimentation, from ecotron facilities to digital modeling approaches. Present your research on climate adaptation, biodiversity resilience, and sustainable ecosystem management alongside Europe's top researchers in functional ecology.
The AnaEE Science Conference brings together leading ecosystem scientists to advance our understanding of how ecosystems can withstand and adapt to global environmental change. The conference spans experimental approaches to global change ecology, forest and agricultural resilience, aquatic-terrestrial interactions, and innovative data integration methods.
Conference sessions and keynote speakers
The three-day program features five thematic sessions with distinguished international speakers:
- Session 1: Ecosystem Resilience in a Changing World
Keynote: Prof. Michael Bahn, University of Innsbruck, Austria - Session 2: Sustainable Agroecology and Soil-Plant Systems
Keynote: Prof. Marie-Hélène Jeuffroy, INRAE, France. - Session 3: Forest Ecosystems under Pressure
Keynote: Prof. Bart Muys, KU Leuven, Belgium - Session 4: Experimental Approaches to Global Change Ecology
Keynote: Prof. Nadia Soudzilovskaia, Hasselt University, Belgium - Session 5: Nature-based Solutions for Climate Adaptation and Mitigation
Keynote: Dr. Nathalie Hilmi, The Scientific Centre of Monaco, Monaco - Session 6: Digital Ecosystems – Data Integration and Modeling
Keynote: Dr. Alessandro Oggioni, Italian National Research Council (CNR), Italy - Session 7: Aquatic-terrestrial and coastal ecosystem interactions

Young Scientists can win prestigious award
If you are a young scientist, there is a great opportunity to compete for the AnaEE Environmental Rising Star Award. The prize recognizes an exceptional early-career researcher, within four years of PhD completion, contributing to functional and experimental ecology. This prestigious award celebrates innovative research that advances our understanding of ecosystem responses to environmental change. The winner is selected by the science committee.
Winners receive a dedicated conference presentation slot, funded research visit to an AnaEE facility of their choice, located outside the winner’s home country (up to €1,500), conference travel support (€500), and prominent recognition. Awards for Best Poster and Best Oral Communication will also be presented.
