Short description of the thesis
This PhD thesis explores the synthesis and characterisation of complex oxide materials, with the aim of understanding how their composition and preparation influence their structure and properties. By combining different metals within the same material, it is possible to create oxides with new and tuneable properties, but their complexity also makes them challenging to understand and control. Using different types of oxide materials, the thesis investigates how complex oxides form, how their structures change under harsh chemical conditions, and how crystalline materials can be transformed into amorphous ones. X-ray techniques are used throughout the work to uncover structural changes that are not visible through conventional characterisation alone.
