Short description of the thesis
This PhD thesis, Analytical Frameworks for Quantitative Single-Molecule Studies of Chromatin Structure and Dynamics, explores how proteins interact with DNA and shape the organization of chromatin, the material that packages the genome inside cells. By combining single-molecule measurements with computational and statistical analysis, the work reveals molecular behaviours that are often hidden when only average measurements are considered. The thesis also develops quantitative tools for comparing complex and highly variable biological data across experiments. Together, these approaches provide new insights into the relationship between molecular dynamics and genome organization, while supporting more accessible, consistent, and reproducible analysis workflows.
