The workshop is for teachers, who wants to learn how to add learning activities, which provides feedback for students.
Intended Learning Outcome:
After the course students will be able to:
- Explain to a colleague, the pedagogical benefits for students working with loops of feedback and peer feedback for their learning
- Identify different tools (like Absalon, Sendsteps, FeedbackFruites) to use for learning activities that provide feedback for students in a course
- Describe how one of the digital learning technologies (like Absalon for assignments or Sendsteps for interactive sessions) can be used in your own course
- List ways in which multiple learning activities can be used in combination in a course (like using quizzes in Absalon in combination with follow up activities in class)
- Analyze the impact of these digital learning technologies on student engagement and learning in your course and evaluate their effectiveness in engaging students and enhancing learning
- Create and implement 1-2 new learning activities using the digital learning technologies demonstrated in this workshop.
The workshop will be a combination of instruction and hands-on exercises where you will work on your own course. Participants will get time to explore new ways to engage students in learning. We will work with different activities that will be ready to use in small or large classes.
In the course we will look at:
- Assignment with personal feedback in Absalon – e.g. recording the feedback in a sound- or video
- Feedback in lecturing – use Sendsteps to create interactive sessions with your students. They can respond from mobile phones or laptop. This can be used for large classes also.

Format

Learning outcomes
The course provides participants with new perspectives on teaching through different kinds of activities (group discussions, exchange of experiences, presentations) and enables the teaching assistants to plan, carry out and evaluate their teaching, focusing on the students´ learning outcome.
Through the course, participants will be provided with tools:
- To plan, carry out and evaluate their teaching
- To identify challenges and opportunities to act in a given teaching situation
- To try out/ test and evaluate new initiatives in their teaching.
Format
The course has a scope of approx 10 hours of teaching. The course starts with workshop activities (on site and online) and is concluded with an assignment. In the assignment each participant reflects on their teaching. The assignment is presented at a final meeting a few months after the first day of the course. The course is based on active participation in both plenary, group and virtual discussions, based on the experiences of the participants. Each participant hands in small assignments during the course.
Target group
The main target group for the TA course are students who are hired as teaching assistants at the Faculty of Science.
Please note that you must be employed as a TA in order to complete the TA course.
We have two versions of the course:
- Danish version: Primarily for TAs teaching on bachelor courses, especially first year courses.
Participants should be able to speak and participate in discussions in Danish. Registration for the Danish version. - English version: Primarily for TA's teaching master courses (or courses at later years at the bachelor education). Registration for the English version.
